Cookie Policy

CanvaScreens is operated by BuiltPOS LLC. Last updated: 3 September 2026

In short

We set one cookie. It keeps you signed in to the console. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers on any CanvaScreens page.

That is also why you do not see a consent banner here. There is nothing to consent to.

1. Everything we store in your browser

NameTypeWhereWhat it doesHow long
canvascreens_sessionCookieapp.canvascreens.comKeeps you signed in. Holds a session token that is stored on our side only as a hash.Expires with the session, up to seven days. Deleted when you sign out.
themeLocal storageYour browserRemembers whether you chose the dark or light interface, so the console does not flash the wrong one on load.Until you clear your browser storage.
canvascreens.deviceLocal storageThe device attached to your screenHolds the device's pairing credentials and the content it last received, so the board keeps playing if the network drops.Until the device is unpaired or reset.

The session cookie is set with HttpOnly, so no script can read it; SameSite=Lax, so it is not sent from another site; and Secure, so it is never transmitted over an unencrypted connection.

The two local storage entries are not cookies. They stay in the browser or on the device and are never sent to us.

2. The marketing site

canvascreens.com sets no cookies at all. You can read every page on the public site without a single cookie being written. We know how the site performs from our own server logs, which record the request, not the person.

3. Third parties

We do not embed any third-party script that sets cookies — no analytics, no tag manager, no chat widget, no social embeds, no advertising pixels.

One exception is worth naming. When you go to pay, you are handed over to Stripe's own checkout and billing pages. Stripe sets its own cookies there for payment processing and fraud prevention, under Stripe's policies rather than ours. That happens on Stripe's domain, not on ours.

4. How to control this

  • Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies in its privacy settings.
  • Blocking the session cookie will stop you signing in to the console. It is the mechanism that keeps you signed in; there is no alternative for us to fall back on.
  • Clearing local storage will reset your theme preference. On a paired device, clearing it will unpair the player and you will need to pair it again.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. These signals tell a site not to track you across the web or sell your data. We do neither of those things for anybody, whether or not the signal is present, so there is no behaviour of ours for the signal to change.

6. Changes

If we ever add anything that stores data in your browser, this page is updated before it ships and the date at the top changes with it. What we do with the data behind it is covered in the Privacy Policy. Questions to hello@canvascreens.com.
